But the question is, can we do more, and can we do better for our economy and our region?
Water is essential for every aspect of life, from agriculture to health to sanitation. Hydrogen is essential for producing green energy as the world moves to a sustainable future based on renewable energy sources. And digital is the enabler that brings water and hydrogen together to make economic prosperity possible by connecting and empowering people and businesses through data, digital infrastructure, and automation.
However, we need to encapsulate these three elements in a sustainability paradigm which ensures that development is done in a way that preserves the environment while improving quality of life. We need to create a Water-Hydrogen-Digital nexus that will transform our society and economy for the better.

The team at Metsi Ke Bophelo, a non-profit organisation, has many years’ experience and a deep understanding of the water, hydrogen and digital nexus, and how this plays an important role in economic development. The organisation is committed to working with the Lesotho Government to develop a strategy which will catapult Lesotho in to becoming the first digital hydro nation in the world.
